Upgrade - Loudspeaker system BMW advanced , 205W amplifier and 12 speakers, including 2 subwoofers under front seats. £395. Upgrade 2 - HK, 600W, 16 speakers. £895. Upgrade 3 - B&W which is £3750!! For that I'd want it to make my breakfast in the morning! Sure it's amazing though.

Nyxeris is right on the money as always, the Harmon Kardon amp is digital, so uses fibre optic. Would have to do a decent chunk of work to get it to function as the factory, but anything is possible! I have one of the Focal 4.320 amps new in the box. I’m tempted to go for the Audiotec-Fischer MATCH UP 7BMW amp, so I would be happy to sell the
They sound great. Totally worth it. Decided to keep the stock amp. I can crank it up to 100% and speakers take it no problem at all, they want more. My wife's car is an X5 with Harman Kardon, and it sounds similar - maybe somewhat worse on the "thickness", but H/K amp is more powerful compared to base.

That being said, the HK was worth the upgrade for me because if I didn't do it the only other choice that I would've been stuck with was the base system. The sounds are a bit more refined and distinctive once you play around with the equalizer settings. - BMWF30. Delivered!!
