He's basically a small town cop. They would have had no idea how badass bayek is. They're strong arming the cops basically, and bayek is technically the one who killed khemu, which makes it so much worse for bayek.

Bayek. With a shield and Bayek's style of combat, the sword obviously makes the most sense. I think the spear and shield combo is most practical when fighting in a battle formation, not as a wandering hero. My head-canon does usually give him the latest, most powerful weapon along the story though. I occasionally give him a spear on horseback
